The Museum of the History of Catalonia (MHC) opened its doors to the public in 1996 with the purpose of spreading awareness and information about the Catalonia history and culture both internationally as well as nationally. The place has permanent exhibitions which will narrate an interactive story of the history of Catalonia from its beginning till the present day. Along with history, the museum also presents to its visitors several educational and cultural activities as well as workshops and conservation projects which they can participate in. There are also temporary exhibitions which visitors can see.
The Museum of the History of Catalonia is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 7 pm; on Wednesday from 10 am to 8 pm and on Sunday and holidays, from 10 am to 2.30 pm. The museum is closed on non-holiday Mondays, January 1, May 1, June 5 and December 25. You will be able to purchase tickets at the box office till 30 minutes before closing time. The Museum library is open from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 3 pm and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m.
